Sundays at WWEC

Sunday is very special for us for it gives us the opportunity to come together and worship God. We believe that this is something that not only pleases him but also helps us to become the kind of people we ought to be.

We try to make our services as helpful and relevant as possible so we sing songs of worship (some traditional and some contemporary) which not only express our love and gratitude to God but also strengthen our understanding of what he has done for us. There are readings from a modern translation of the Bible (the New International Version) so that we might hear together what God has to say in a particular passage, and prayers are offered both for the needs of our world and of God’s people. The sermon seeks to be faithful to God’s Word and to speak relevantly to our needs and daily life.

Our morning service begins at 10.30 a.m. and the evening service starts at 6.30 p.m. Each service generally lasts for an hour to an hour and a quarter. On the first Sunday evening in the month and the third Sunday morning the services incorporate the celebration of the Lord’s Supper to which all believers in our Lord Jesus Christ as Saviour and Lord are invited. Before the evening service each week there is a prayer meeting between 6.00 - 6.15 p.m.

From time to time we hold lively family services when the children who come to our mid-week meetings take part and their parents come to support them.

If you are looking for a church where you will be given a friendly welcome and find helpful ministry we shall be delighted to welcome you. If you are unsure about Christianity, wondering what life is all about and looking for some answers we would count it a privilege to try and help you. We don’t have all the answers to life’s problems off pat and we can’t answer the deepest longings of the human heart - but we know a Man who can! And we would love to introduce you to him.
